Designated by the United Arab Emirates as a terrorist group in 2014, Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations) soon will open a Colorado chapter. The Colorado chapter is one of three new ones the organization is opening, bringing its total number of regional offices to 30.

in January, a former soldier and convert to Islam (below) accused of killing a transit guard in Denver last month says he supports the Islamic State group. Joshua Cummings in a telephone interview from jail told The Associated Press he pledged allegiance to the group after fasting three days in the jail.
He says he did so to purge the oath he took to uphold the U.S. Constitution when he joined the Army in 1996. The 37-year-old Islamic convert from Pampa, Texas, declined to say whether his Islamic State support led him to allegedly shoot Scott Von Lanken in the head on Jan. 31.
In early January, an 83-year-old Longmont man was pressured by neighbors and the city to take a sign down that read, “Muslim’s kill Muslim’s [sic] if they don’t agree. Where does that leave you, ‘infidel.’”
And a lawsuit was filed last month accused three guards at the Sterling Correctional Facility of deliberately letting off a pepper spray bomb into a room a group of Muslims were about to pray in, then beating up and putting in solitary confinement one of the Muslim inmates who threatened legal action against the guards.
