Let’s hope BuzzFeed is hiring reporters to also cover specific incidences of Christianophobia, Judeophobia, blackophobia, Asianophobia, Hinduphobia (and the list goes on). The report says it right: “Get ready for more fake news…..” Maybe BuzzFeed could hire Yasmin Seweid as a consultant. “BuzzFeed Hires Islamophobia Reporter”, by Maggie McKneely, MRC Newsbusters, December 13, 2016: Get […]
“Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani has ordered the head of the country’s Atomic Energy Organisation to start planning the development of nuclear-powered ships in reaction to what he called the United States’ violation of their nuclear deal.” Meanwhile, Iran’s vice president and the head of its nuclear program, Fereydoon Abbasi-Davani, has finally admitted: Sometimes we pretended to be weaker […]
My friend and colleague at the David Horowitz Freedom Center, Michael Finch, was more insightful and aware of what was going in the country than legions of establishment pundits. That is of a piece with the Freedom Center being one of the few institutions that recognizes and speaks honestly about the nature and magnitude of […]
Petraeus said: “This cannot be the United States being the air force for Shia militias, or a Shia on Sunni Arab fight.” He is half-right. If the U.S. did intervene, it would indeed be acting as the air force for Shia militias, and for the weak Shia regime in Baghdad. However, the conflict in Iraq […]

Hostage takers and treaty breakers complain that their rights are being abused.
If there is one thing we can say for certain about the Obama administration, it is that it has redefined foreign policy. Now it is more on the level of foreign non-policy, or perhaps the Hinny Youngman Hour, where every time Barack Obama or his secretaries of state make a public statement, the world’s diplomatic community falls down laughing.
Pragmatically, there is only one thing the USA could do (or should do) about the Ukraine situation. It could stop making public statements that only make the government of the United States appear more naïve. So I think “shut up” is a viable alternative to what we keep hearing in the press —and relevant advice to a government that apparently has forgotten what happened exactly 100 years ago.
I don’t condemn the Ukrainian people for ridding themselves of a Vladimir Putin shill in the form of Viktor Yanukovych. From all I understand about this fellow, he should never have won the 2010 election with 48.95% of the popular vote (See note 1). I just keep wondering why they think the USA offers them any safety. Don’t they realize that we are ourselves on the verge of another civil war?
No, I think the Ukrainian people got themselves into this mess, and they will have to find their own way out of it. And I urge them to stop pleading for assistance from the US because they aren’t going to get it. Besides, appealing to the US and European governments for aid only strengthens Putin’s resolve. So grow up, Ukraine —and do it quickly.
1. There could be a lesson here for all of those Americans who think we need more than two political parties in the United States.
The United States still consists of fifty states, but they no longer have fiscal independence (hat tip to Asylum Watch):Percent of budget coming from the feds went from 37% in 2001 to 45% in 2012. Federal money per person went from $1,352 in 2001 to $…
