Where did Syaikhah Izzah Zahrah Al Ansari learn her understanding of Islam, that led her to want to join the Islamic State? Has her mosque been investigated? Why not? “First Singaporean woman suspected of Islamist radicalism detained,” Reuters, June 12, 2017 (thanks to The Religion of Peace): SINGAPORE said on Monday it has detained an […]
At Los Angeles March for Truth on June 3, 2017, Congresswoman Maxine Waters, the Democratic Party’s Representative for the 43rd District of California, once again declares her mission to impeach President Trump because of his supposed collusion with Russia to undermine our elections.
Same old, same old. Yawn.
What is interesting in the video below, however, is Congresswoman Waters’s reaction to the reporter’s question about President Obama’s policy with regard to Russia (about time marker 1:04ff):
The Young Turks reporter asked the congresswoman why she’s been so focused on the Russia controversy. “Russia is not our friend,” Waters said, adding that the country has sought to undermine the United States’s democracy by meddling in the presidential elections. Tracey then used Waters’s own words in asking his second question: If Russia is not a friend of the United States, was it a mistake then for former president Barack Obama to forge military cooperation with Russia in Syria?
“You and I have a different agenda, young man. I’m out to impeach this president. Get that straight. I’m out to impeach the president,” Waters said, her voice raising [sic]. “I’m not going to be diverted by people who are Obama haters.”
In a subsequent MSNBC interview:
Waters dismissed Tracey as a right-wing supporter who’s out to harass and intimidate her….
“They’re going to continue to harass me, but that’s okay. I’m accustomed to being harassed,” Waters said. “I’m not afraid of them. I’m going to continue to speak my mind in the way that I do.”
Reporter Michael Tracey, the reporter in the above video, works for the Young Turks, a video news network popular among progressive voters:
Cenk Uygur, founder of the Young Turks video network that has become virally popular among progressive voters, is launching a project called Justice Democrats to defeat members of the Democratic Party who have cast votes seen as unacceptable.
“The aim in 2018 is to put a significant number of Justice Democrats in the Congress. The aim for 2020 is to more significantly take over the Democratic Party,” Uygur said….
Apparently, the reporter’s pointed questioning of anything Obama-related triggered Congresswoman Maxine Waters.
Maybe it was a white man’s asking an uncomfortable question about the first African-American President’s foreign policy that triggered Congresswoman Waters.
Maybe Trumpophobia has unhinged her. Last month, on the stage of Busboys and Poets, Congresswoman Waters exploded:
“Donald Trump is someone that found his way to the presidency of the United States of America — I still don’t know how,” she said, drawing boos at the mention of the president’s name. “But he’s someone that I’m committed to getting impeached!”
The crowd exploded.
“He’s a liar! He’s a cheat! He’s a con man!” she said, each declaration punctuated by cheers. “We’ve got to stop his ass!
[hat tip to my good friend Silverfiddle for the term Trumpophobia]
At the end of 2011, my organization and our international partners in Europe called upon the United Nations and the international human rights community to act quickly and decisively to save the Christians of Syria, who are being increasingly threatened and victimized by Islamic supremacists. It’s not as if anyone could say that it was […]
The series of deadly attacks in the central Hama province targeted villages where most residents belong to the Ismaili branch of Shia Islam. The Islamic State considers Ismailis apostates, and the Sharia punishment for apostasy is death. But you won’t hear much about Muslim-on-Muslim violence committed in the name of Islam from the mainstream media. […]
This incident shows up, among other things, the uselessness of vetting procedures. Western authorities are looking for jihadis while denying the motivating ideology that fuels the jihad: it’s a recipe for letting mass murderers into one’s country. This one was with the Free Syrian Army, which a few years ago was the “moderate” favorite of […]
The Sunni-Shia jihad kills far more people than “Islamophobia.” Yet which gets more attention from the UN and “human rights” organizations? “Syria: 126 killed as bomb hits buses with evacuees, group says,” by Jason Hanna, Salma Abdelaziz and Eyad Kourdi, CNN, April 16, 2017: (CNN)The death toll from a bomb attack targeting evacuees leaving besieged […]
“Trump supports terrorism”? These protesters are aware of what I have pointed out here, that a weakening of the Assad regime redounds to the benefit only of the Islamic State and other Sunni jihad groups. On the other hand, these protesters were chanting “Death to America, death to Israel,” because the Assad regime is a […]
Odd, then, to bomb forces that are fighting against the Islamic State. “Defeating IS is ‘first priority’ in Syria: Tillerson,” AFP, April 8, 2017: Washington (AFP) – The top priority for the United States in Syria is to defeat the Islamic State group even before stabilizing the country, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson says. Defeating […]
That in itself ought to give Trump pause. They haven’t suddenly decided to become generous and bipartisan. They are, if anything, consistent. Trump is now working from the Obama playbook, aiding jihad groups as he did, and so the Democrats couldn’t be more pleased. At last he is presidential. But he is betraying the promises […]
Trump is acting as the Islamic State’s air force. And the Islamic State is delighted. “Radical Islamists Cheer Trump Administration’s Missile Strike,” by Alex Pfeiffer, Daily Caller, April 7, 2017: Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and Sen. John McCain cheered the Trump administration’s decision Thursday to strike the Assad regime, as did Syrian rebel groups […]
