Obviously America isn’t Ready for Hillary. Despite a massively hyped book tour, endless television appearances and America constantly being reminded how wonderful this gasbag is, people aren’t quite rushing out to buy this nonsense.
Hillary Rodham Clinton’s new book is called “Hard Choices” — but not many people have been choosing to buy it.
The former US first lady and New York senator’s tome is more bomb than bombshell, according to a new report on its sales.
The book’s publisher, Simon & Schuster, was “hoping and praying” that 150,000 print copies had been sold in the first week, the source told the magazine. The 656-page book — in which Clinton (right) writes about her tenure as secretary of state under President Obama — has sold only 60,000 hardcover copies and 24,000 e-books in its first week, a source told The Weekly Standard.
“Between us, they are nervous at S&S,” the source said. “It’s a bomb, but it will be interesting to see how they spin it.”
The magazine said that some 1 million copies of the book were reportedly shipped when it went on sale June 10.
“The 60K represents a less than 10 percent sell- through based on what they shipped,” the source said. “They will be lucky to sell 150,000 total lifetime.”
Ouch. By contrast, Rush Limbaugh’s children’s book sold more copies in its first week of release last fall. That’s going to leave a mark. You can be assured the lamestream media won’t be reporting that fact.
Ladies and gentlemen, the official count of book sales is in for last week. The official count is provided by a company called Nielson, TV ratings people, Nielsen BookScan. The Nielsen BookScan for last week was in this morning. Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims is the number one best-selling book in the country this week in any category, in all categories. Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims is numero uno in adult, children, hardcover, paperback, fiction, nonfiction, 158,005 copies sold.
The number two book, John Grisham and the hardcover of Sycamore Row at 82,000 copies sold. John Grisham’s debut week was 141,000, but actually our 158,000 number is not the total, because there were about 20,000 e-books sold. So we’re up to 176,115 copies the first week. The second-place book is at 82,000. And our publisher has informed me that if you count the sales that we know have happened Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, we’re over 200,000 books sold in our first week. We are thrilled, we are excited, because of the mission that is this book.
The angry left will tell us it’s because Limbaugh has a built-in audience, ignoring all the free publicity this battle-ax has gotten. Meanwhile, her drooling supporters still can’t name an accomplishment:
